Sweat Shirt Popularity
Ever increasing in popularity, the sweat shirt is a must have article of clothing for everyone. It’s unbelievably comfortable and comes in a wide assortment of styles and colors. Sweatshirts can be customized with graphic designs, images, photos, and clipart to create just about any theme you can imagine. The sweat shirt leads the way when it comes to its ability to deliver social statements; a quip, one liner, words, phrases, and sweat shirt saying to express your passion or take a stand on various issues.
Sweat Shirt: Not Too Heavy and Not Too Light
A typical cotton sweat shirt is about the weight of 2 to 3 t shirts. Sweat shirts are in between a shirt and a jacket. They usually have long sleeves and are made of thick breathable material that can absorb perspiration and whisk it away from the body. They work well to keep you warm and comfortable on a cool day without breaking the bank or breaking you out into a sweat. They are great for layering; you can wear a shirt under, a sweater or light wind breaker over it. I prefer to wear only a shirt under so as not to cover-up the designs on my custom sweatshirts or saying of the day. For added warmth you should opt for a hoodie sweat shirt.
Men’s Women’s and Kids Sweat Shirts
Personally, I don’t see a lot of gender difference between a man’s sweat shirt, a women’s sweatshirt, or kid’s sweatshirts. If you wear it, it is what it is. However, recently a number of more feminine style sweat shirts have appeared in the marketplace. Typically a ladies sweat shirt has a look and fit that is more girly girly; with stylish colors and embellishments they are often fitted to hug a woman’s shapely body.
Two Major Classifications of Sweat Shirt
Well, it is really quite simple, but it’s my job to make a mountain of text out of a hoodie. One sweatshirt is a hybrid of the other. I will start with and end with the hybrid; the hooded sweat shirt, also known as a hoody or hoodie. As the name implies the hooded sweat shirt has a pull up or down hood. I am still perplexed as to how this sweat shirt got the nickname – hoodie. Haha. As with most things, the hood may have bells, whistles and embellishments; such as, a drawstring (ripcord) to snug-up the hood around the head, snaps, buttons, Velcro, vents, added insulation liner, or even a pocket. Some have hand warming or whatever pockets up front around the belly area. Personally, I like the simple fold up or down hoodie sweat shirt.
Everything else without the hood is more or less just a sweatshirt or sweat shirt.
